In some cases problems with dial-in are on our end, so its really hard to establish a clear-cut policy about supporting college-owned micros but not personal systems. I do know that providing support for dial-in does stretch our staff (further than they would like). For hardware repairs, we charge $35/hour plus parts for all privately owned machines, unless they are under warranty. For Reed-owned equipment, we don't have chargebacks. Typically we do not make house calls to dorm rooms or faculty residences - they have to bring their gear in.
