What did you think were it's good and bad points? Obviously it's not a fast machine, but we're looking at it as a low-end option. We currently use Northwest Net as our service provider. We are interested in getting another T1 line. We have 4 now over a satellite link but want a separate one that is a phone line for the times the satellite link is down and to connect to Portals. Does anyone use more than one Internet service provider one for their Portals connection and another for the rest of their connectivity? Any information you want to relay would be welcome. Please write to the group if you think it would be of interest to all or myself. It's a nice tower unit that looks well built, and doesn't have any jagged edges inside that we could see (we didn't take it completely apart though.) The motherboard easily slides out. The attractions for us are the 200+ mhz (albeit 603e), the two PCI's, and the built-in zip drive. The net connecter is 10BaseT. The media and TV hookups look good, but most importantly, the web site for it, http://hed.info.apple.com/education/products/6500.html says " when you plug in external speakers, the built-in speaker becomes a subwoofer." Now we're talking. Anyway, it looks like this is the best candidate for our low-end system, given the poor feedback on the 4400. Tom At 8:29 PM 3/19/97, Marianne Colgrove wrote: >So are we.
