My Issue: The Student Newspaper sells advertising as part of it's printed version. The advertisements are mostly from local commercial businesses that want to cater to our student population. They want to run "Banner Ads" with the Online/Web Version of the newspaper and actually charge a separate rate for that type of advertising. Message-ID: Hey Folks-- Does anyone have a formal policy (either "for" or "against") regarding whether you allow commercial advertising on any of your campus web pages? My Issue: The Student Newspaper sells advertising as part of it's printed version. The advertisements are mostly from local commercial businesses that want to cater to our student population. They want to run "Banner Ads" with the Online/Web Version of the newspaper and actually charge a separate rate for that type of advertising. We have a policy against any type of commerical activity on our computers. This is primary because of software licensing issues. We have several software licenses on campus that prohibit commerical activities..
