From pitterk at whitman.edu Mon May 17 13:34:45 2004 From: pitterk at whitman.edu (Keiko Pitter) Date: Fri Jul 16 16:34:45 2004 Subject: SUMMER NW-HEAT meeting Message-ID: <002901c43c4e$63c9ed30$2c010b0a@whitman.edu> This is a heads up for the upcoming NW-Heat meeting. There will be a NW-HEAT meeting/get-together on Wednesday, June 16 in the afternoon. Location to be determined (it will be one of Lewis & Clar, Linfield, or Reed) So please MARK YOUR CALENDAR. Now some detail: We haven't gotten together in a while..and we should, especially when we have very similar concerns and interests. Since some of you are coming to Portland (from far away places) for NWDUG meeting (over at noon on Wed June 16--at Linfield) AND some of you are coming to Portland (from far away places) for NWACC meeting (starts Thursday morning--at River Place Hotel in Portland) We thought a NW-HEAT meeting Wednesday afternoon will allow more people to attend (without making a separate trip). This will not be a lengthy meeting...maybe from 1:00 or 1:30 to 3:30 or 4 and focus on just a couple of things. We are considering two tracks for this meeting. (1) Preparing for September --- after our experience with virus last fall, I'm sure we are all trying to figure out what to expect and what to do this coming fall. Let's get together and share good ideas you've already thought of...and brain storm on others. (2) Web Services -- I was noting that every one of us have developed some little Web apps that it just so sweet and want to brag about and is willing to share idea and/or source code with others. Let's have Web development people come to this get together with their "brag" lists---show & tell. Then again, brain storm on other things we can do. Anyway--mark your calendar. Think of who best to attend. We will send out more info later. Keiko Pitter Whitman College PS: I believe NW-HEAT listserv is no longer current. If you can think of others that should be involved in this get-together, please forward the info and ask them to subscribe to NW-HEAT listserv.
